Dear Younger Me by MercyMe

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. - Ecclesiastes 4:12

Brought out in the post “Shared Experiences” is the thought that we are united with God through Christ who conquered death. We are a new person in Christ with the purpose of serving a great God who has given us the help of a body of believers. For a triple-braided cord is not easily broken just in the scripture above points out.

We can feed each other Spiritual food for the soul to fulfill God’s purpose. There is no need to worry or nothing to fear for we are free to be the person God wants us to be. As in the song How Great is Our God by Chris Tomlin, we can rejoice in our future together as we use our individual strengths for His great purpose.

An Instant Lift Higher

For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16

As shared in the post “The Loving Father”, David was in distress but appealed to the quality of God’s character known as love. The Father gives guidance, instruction, and security. The only requirement from us to receive an instant lift higher today by accepting His gift of love.

Our mood can be instantly lifted by the positive affirmation God gives us through the gift of His Son who was sacrificed for us on the Cross. No matter what has happened in the past, the downward trend can be reversed because the Cross is a big plus. Receive this gift from God and be lifted higher today as you listen to this song of praise: At the Cross – Chris Tomlin.

His Word is Golden

And the words of the Lord are flawless,
Like silver purified in a crucible,
Like gold refined seven times.  – Psalm 12:6

As explained in the post Rely on God’s Word, the instructions we get from the world many times no longer work or maybe never did work. On the other hand, the instructions we find in God’s Word are golden; always perfect with instructions on how to live.

God’s words are golden and the words we use are also very valuable and powerful. Today’s video is about how important words are as they can build up or tear down or lead others to God: Words – Hawk Nelson.

Your words have supported those who stumbled; you have strengthened faltering knees. - Job 4:4

Love Beyond Measure

In the post “The Third Day”, we are told that the women went to the tomb of Jesus on the third day after the crucifixion and found the stone rolled away from the tomb. They were told that Jesus had risen!

Our mood can always be lifted by the positive affirmation God gives us through His Son. Today, we are made aware that Jesus demonstrated love beyond measure and this inspires us to return this love unconditionally to others. Enjoy today’s video Love Take Me Over – Steven Curtis Chapman.

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. - John 13:34

Everyone has Tremendous Value in God’s Eyes

Think of people or groups that are favored by the world. Those wearing fine clothes, the pretty people on the outside, those with nice cars, and those that live in nice neighborhoods. In James 2:1-13, we are told that such partiality is absolutely wrong. James tells us that God has chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and inherit the kingdom He promised those who love him (v. 5). The right way to live and the standard for our actions are to follow the golden rule, “To love your neighbor as yourself” (v. 8).

The Gospel law of liberty gives freedom to everyone. We are to alleviate barriers or obstacles people face by accepting, appreciating, and affirming everyone that lives by the “Golden Rule”. All Christians share a common father so respect all people because God loves them. We are not to respect others because of mere outward circumstances and appearances. We shouldn’t favor the rich and look down on the poor or accept only those with our same skin color or only the strong and healthy rather than the disabled.

As you go throughout each day, be aware of simple things you can do that will make a big difference to help others get over the barriers that stand in their way? Here’s a video to illustrate how we can apply today’s lesson: Ducklings Get Just What They Need.

Success is not fancy cloths, cars, and homes but discipline and inner peace. If you are tempted to judge others this day with God, be reminded that everyone has tremendous value in His eyes.
