Take the opportunity to gain
momentum with one step that leads to other steps. Before long you are gaining
momentum for a victorious life; you are living with passion, loving completely,
learning humbly, and living boldly.
Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s
Spirit lives in you? – 1 Corinthians 3:16
Reading in Exodus
25, a tabernacle was to be built according to exact instructions. The post
“A Sanctuary for God to Dwell” pointed
out that this tabernacle would be the place in which God would dwell.
Also pointed out was that
because of Christ, we are each God’s Temple and His Spirit dwells within us. We
can get ready for the challenge of each day by going to the ONE who created it
all and passionately stirring each other up to boldly step ahead.
There are many reasons that some
may worry in life; a job with unreasonable demands or trying to get through a
difficult class in school among other things but all that matters is doing our
best and trusting God. So live life with passion, with initiative, and gain
momentum by getting ready for each day.
As the song One Step Away by Casting Crowns points
out, we are never alone and we can go to the ONE whose arms are wide open and
cast away all our anxieties.
I can do everything through Him who gives me strength. – Philippians
4:13
The lesson as laid out in the
post “The ONE Who Won” was that the Lord
fights for you. With Him, you can do so much more. He prepares a path for you
by driving out obstacles in your way so love the Lord your God and step ahead.
Sometimes the greatest competition
we face is within our own mind. We may have a major deadline at work or a major
payment due. Our mind may keep telling us, “It’s too difficult … I can’t do
this” but because of God we can have confidence to tell our mind, “Yes I can”.
One idea is to memorize
scripture like the one at the top of this post when faced with pressure
situations in life. Another idea may be to listen to music for inspiration. God
has fought over the years for His people and He fights for you today.
The greatest historical victory
ever was His Son Jesus Christ who died for all. Grace wins all the time to
allow you to rise up to victory on a daily basis. Take a few minutes to be
inspired by this song Grace Wins by Matthew
West because the victory is for all who belong to
Christ Jesus.
Joshua said to them, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Be
strong and courageous. This is what the Lord will do to all the enemies you are
going to fight.” – Joshua 10:25
As shared in the post “Victory Builds Momentum for Future Victories”,
the Ammonites were the people of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish, and
Eglon. The kings of each joined together to attack Gibeon. But Joshua and his
army came to their rescue and God was with them as He produced hail stones to
kill the enemy. He even stopped the sun so that Joshua and his army had the
extra daylight to pursue the five kings.
The kings could not get away so
they hid in a cave at Makkedah (vv. 16-17) but they were found and Joshua told
his officers to put their feet on the king’s necks to engender trust in God for
future victories (v. 24).
Joshua’s army always returned to
Gilgal (v. 43) for rest, encouragement, inspiration, and to develop a strategy.
My friend, let us daily return to God for study, prayer, and encouragement. He
inspires us to jump into life with enthusiasm.
We can pray, listen for instructions, and get things done now. Opportunities to
do great things are right in front of us so let’s give God our best.
When we believe God is for us and
if we see God at work in our life; confidence grows, victories come our way,
and these victories can be used to build momentum to face future challenges
just like in the song Live
with Abandon by Newsboys.
Sharing in the post “Trusting the Lord”, David desired success in
overcoming his enemies and in prayer he asks God for help. He thanks God for
listening and granting his spiritual request and asks for eternal blessings.
When we follow God’s plan for us, we
are assured of gaining victories in various situations throughout life. There
will be challenges but as in this video: We Won’t Be Shaken – Building 429. As we gain victories, our response will be to
give God the glory as we gain momentum each day.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of
the Lord our God. - Psalm 20:7
The world has a way of making us
feel that we are not quite good enough. We may feel that we are not quite skilled
enough or that we just don't catch on to a new concept. If thoughts like these come
to mind, remember that with God there is no need to get stressed out. He's big
enough to make up the difference and provide the extra needed to finish each
day a step ahead.
Trust in the ONE true
He will always keep you
And always provide for you
Here is a link to a video that
can change the momentum for your day: This
Day with God.
There are days we may be tired,
confused, or kind of down but if we keep going and make some progress for that
day, we can wake up the next day with some momentum that eventually gets us back
up to full speed. This day with God can be amazing because of our faith in the
possibilities He gives.
Persistence like a stream of
water eventually cuts into a rock and if we remain persistent at focusing on
the possibilities God gives, we can cut into and go through any obstacle in our
way.
With God, we have something
amazing and there is no need to add anything extra; just highlight the amazing
and keep it simple. That’s what I like about this song: Press On – Building 429
So you must be brave. Don’t give up! God will honor you for obeying
him. - 2 Chronicles 15:7
In the post Developing the Right Attitude, the people still did not get it. They were thirsty in the Desert of Sin and complained to Moses; even ready to stone him but Moses prayed and God told him to hit a rock with his rod and when he did, water came gushing out for them to drink.
Later in the passage, we are told how they overcame their enemy in war. Moses lifted his hands toward God and as long as his hands were above his head showing total dependence on God, the Israelites were victorious.
Each of us face trials in life. There may be times when projects are due, bills are due, or for a business … payroll must be met. Many go into panic mode, but followers of Christ have developed a different attitude.
Followers of Christ just keep stepping ahead steadily towards the victory because they have developed the right attitude; the attitude of “been there, done that” and constantly relying on God’s guidance. The challenges in life are handled victoriously on a regular bases because of their faith.
Followers of Christ know that the King of Glory; Jesus laying down His life for our freedom brings victory into each of our lives. Here’s a video that inspires this thought: This is Amazing Grace – Phil Wickham.
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. - Colossians 2:8
Shared in the post Turning Tough Situations into Something Positive were thoughts about how God led His people through a tough situation as they were trapped between the Egyptian army and the Red Sea but then the sea was parted allowing them to escape.
Just like He did with the Israelites back then, God can take us out of tough situations today and turn them into something positive. Out of intense difficulties, God can make simplicities emerge.
Ever hear a song that gives you a lift during times of struggle. We get hit with so many negative thoughts on a daily basis. One idea is to start the day with uplifting positive music that gets your mind in the right frame of mind as you start your day. Here’s one for today: It’s a Beautiful Day – Jamie Grace. Enjoy!
Now we can look forward to the salvation God has promised us. There is no longer any room for doubt, and we can tell others that salvation is ours, for there is no question that He will do what he says. - Hebrews 10:23
Sometimes we
face challenges in life that seem overwhelming. That’s when knowing that with
God, everything is possible can keep us heading in a positive direction. We can
pray about the challenge, make accurate decisions, gain momentum, and meet the
challenge head on.
In the
post Healing Power, I wrote about Peter
receiving the power through Christ to heal a paralytic man named Aeneas and
bringing a disciple named Dorcas back to life. The amazing power of God was
made known and many turned to the Lord.
These were
two of the great miracles found in the Bible but the greatest miracle of all is
eternal salvation through Jesus Christ. We serve an awesome God … enjoy today’s
inspiring video: Awesome God by Michael W. Smith.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask
or think, according to the power that works within us. - Ephesians 3:20
Even under tough times, we can
look forward to brighter days ahead. What we need to do is continue to get prepared,
be confident, and have inner peace because the kingdom of God is within our
hearts.
No one is too young or old; too
weak or strong; Start now to do the thing that you are really good at and don’t
believe the lie when others want to discourage. Every day has a lesson or a
piece of history that can be used to learn and share with others.
Gain your edge for the day by
getting your thinking toward the things of God. Think of what good things are
going your way, build momentum, and focus on one task at a time. Most of all as
the video All the People Said Amen – Matt
Maher explains, give thanks to the Lord! Amen.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love
Him, who have been called according to His purpose. - Romans 8:28
In the post Redeemer, one point written about is how the
family of Jacob was being destroyed by the past. When Judah steps ahead and
begs Joseph for the chance to take the place of Benjamin, we are reminded of
Christ who died for us on the Cross. Judah was willing to take the place of
Benjamin and become a slave so that Benjamin could go free.
Many times in life, our past
begins to wear on us and consume our joy. Individuals and families feel that
there is no way out. It is during times like this that the only hope is to let
it go. Once the past is let go, a change can take place through faith to set us
free.
Today’s video is about a
hopeless life being turned around; a new believer seeing the light and being
changed by the amazing cleansing power of the blood of Christ: Something in the Water – Carrie Underwood.
For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into
the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of
sins. - Colossians 1:13-14
How do we add quality to our faith? At this link, I write some ideas. Also, I have here a song about faith that I hope gives a lift to your day: Glorify You Alone – Gateway Worship 2010. God bless your day!
And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. - Hebrews 10:38-39
