Impossible Becomes Possible

Jesus replied, ‘What is impossible with men is possible with God. – Luke 18:27

If we are worried so much about what we need to do and not aware of what God can do, our true potential will not be realized. Just as shared in the post “Winning Battles”, God provides the power to make what seems impossible possible.

Worry only gives us stress and keeps us from being at our best. It takes away our freedom but confidence in God gives a lift as if on the wings of an eagle.

In sports, many times it is one missed opportunity that makes all the difference between victory and defeat; a dropped pass in football; a fielding error in baseball; a missed free throw in basketball. It’s the same in the game of life but if we take the opportunity to accept God’s plan for us, there is only victory.

Even though there are defeats in life, we have grace that provides the ultimate victory. Be lifted up today by this video Only Grace – Matthew West and know that God gives you the upper hand so that what seems impossible becomes possible.

Plan that Unifies

God gives us insight into how to play our part in a bright future and gives us plans in order to make an impact. In the post The Written Plan, some thoughts were shared about a letter written to handle some growing pains of the early church. The devil was trying to disrupt their unity but this letter declared their plan for unity.

God has given us a plan that unifies all believers. At this link is “God’s Plan for Us” in a word document that can be read, downloaded and signed by anyone that would like to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Today’s video Born Again by Newsboys is about this decision for Christ that simplifies and unifies so we are all on the path to a brighter future. This day with God will be amazing because of who God is and who you are; an important name in history – one of His children.

“...let us know His secret purpose.  This was what God wanted, and He planned to do it through Christ.  His goal was to carry out His plan, when the right time came, that all things in heaven and on earth would be joined together in Christ as the head. - Ephesians 1:9-11

Irritations can Become Pearls

Some days are just frustrating and it takes some adjustment and soothing but like a piece of sand irritating a clam, our irritations might become our pearls.

This day with God, be an overcomer even when things happen that should not or when those you thought you could trust do something that makes you not trust them anymore. Be able to forgive, step ahead, and be grateful for what you do have. Here’s a video to spur us on with this thought: Overcomer - Mandisa.

To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on His throne. - Revelation 3:21

God’s Plan for Us

As we observed in the post “A Major Project”, Moses was a man of patience and made God an acquaintance. He endured distress and God did bless to start a major project. One that would eventually lead the Israelite people to the Promised Land.

Moses faced doubts because he didn’t feel qualified but God gave him insight into how to play a part in freeing His people so they would have a better future and gave him plans to make a difference.

Just like Moses, we may feel unqualified at times but God has given us a plan. God’s Plan for Us is a plan that frees people so they can go the Way to a better place. Take inspiration from today’s video: Who Am I – Casting Crowns.

“...let us know His secret purpose.  This was what God wanted, and He planned to do it through Christ.  His goal was to carry out His plan, when the right time came, that all things in heaven and on earth would be joined together in Christ as the head. - Ephesians 1:9-11

Pray Daily for Instructions

Each of us has a purpose and to be determined to fulfill this purpose, it’s important that we go to God in prayer too. If we have the right instructions and plan for our day, we have a better chance for things to fall into place so we accomplish more than we ever thought we could. Then day by day, our purpose is fulfilled.

Writing and reading about faith gives one a great purpose because we can highlight thoughts or ideas that encourage, energize and inspire just like this video: Every Good Thing – The Afters.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will. - Romans 12:2

Beyond Your Wildest Dreams

What God gives in a plan for life is a treasure and the more we surrender to His plan, the more passion we have. In the post Listen and Follow Directions, God would eventually bless Abraham with more descendants than stars in the sky or sands on all the beaches (v.17).

Here is a video I produced a while back about a person who settled in the city in which I currently live. He set out to fulfill his dreams many years ago; becoming a successful businessman in a new land. Eventually his family would leave a tract of land to the city. Today that land is a city park and zoo named in his honor. Enjoy this video: Beyond Your Wildest Dreams.

My child, eat honey, for it is good, and the honeycomb is sweet to the taste. In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul, If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short.  - Proverbs 24:13-14

Questions for Reflection for Study of Genesis 13-16

After the flood, God made a promise to Noah that He would never flood the earth again and the symbol of this promise is the rainbow. Today, God can provide music for our ears, laughter for our soul, and a rainbow after every storm because of His love demonstrated to us through His son Jesus. His Word provides food for the mind and His Son creates light for understanding so our acceptance of Jesus as the Son of God truly washes sins away.

The Bible is not about great people doing things for God; it is just regular people doing extraordinary things because of an amazing God. He knows each of us by name and has a place for each of us in this world. That is why it is important to take the initiative in being prepared for each day. Being the best “you” everyday so God can do His work.

In life, we all have doubts but those who can step ahead even while having doubts are the people God can use to do great things. It takes humility and it takes the willingness to learn from each other. Associating with others of integrity is important along with trust and when our trust is in God’s way, we are assured of getting to our destination.

As the journey continues through God’s Word for the weeks to come. The mission of this blog is to bring out ways to apply His Word in our life at work, at home, and within our neighborhoods. The questions for reflection for the study of Genesis 13-16 below will help bring out some thoughts and ideas over the next two weeks.

What is Abraham and Lot’s problem? How does Abraham resolve the problem? How does the way you settle differences and arguments reveal your trust (or lack of trust) in God? What does Lot’s choice reveal about his character?

What are the dangers of close association with ungodly people? Who is Melchizedek? How do you act toward fellow Christians?

What is Abraham’s main concern? How does God encourage Abraham? What predictions and promises does God make while Abraham is asleep (watch the future developments)?

How did Sarah and Abraham try to “push” God? What is their basic problem? In what ways do your actions affect future generations?

The above reading plan will be used as I share over the next few posts. It’s important to have a plan. I’m thankful that Jesus is God’s plan for us and by accepting Him as Savior; we have taken the steps necessary to make this day with Him amazing! At this link: God’s Plan for Us, is a post about accepting God’s plan or reaffirming our “YES” for Christ.

Feel free to respond with a short note or a comment about any of the questions above. Also, I welcome any other thoughts or ideas, favorite inspirational videos, photos, or favorite Bible verses. Just add them to the comments or to a Facebook page I’ve set up at this link: This Day With God.

Adding Quality to Faith

How do we add quality to our faith? At this link, I write some ideas. Also, I have here a song about faith that I hope gives a lift to your day: Glorify You Alone – Gateway Worship 2010. God bless your day!

And, “But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.” But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. - Hebrews 10:38-39
