Kindness Interjection Leads to Life Redirection

In the post Bless with Gentleness, it was explained that Joseph never considered taking revenge on his brothers or those who placed him in prison. He was kind and respectful and this influenced those around him in a positive way. The result was the favor of the Lord and success in whatever he did.

Just like God showed us mercy and kindness which led to positive results, we can also influence those around us in a positive way. This day with God, let us use this video to inspire acts of kindness and mercy towards others: Kindness – Todd Agnew.

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. - Ephesians 4:31-32

It’s All About Jesus

A lie the world tells us is to do things on our own without any help. Make things as complicated and difficult as possible so that character will be built through struggle. But maybe things in the technological age are complicated enough. How about working together, receiving the help God gives in Christ, and accepting the obvious as truth.

In the post Thoughts of Life Leading to Meaning and Purpose, Jacob gathered his sons together as he was in his last days and gave a talk to his sons on their character traits. It’s always important to listen to others, pray for direction, and make adjustments along the journey.

We all need a strategy and road map along the journey so it’s important to reflect on the past, come to the Lord in praise, have a heart of worship and realize it’s all about Jesus. Today’s video speaks about this approach: Heart of Worship – Matt Maher.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and he will make your paths straight. - Proverbs 3:5-6

Redemption Wins

Jacob had lived a broken life. A good part of it, he thought his son Joseph had been killed by wild animals. Later in life, he found out that Joseph was alive. He was then reunited with him in Egypt for seventeen years. At an old age when he was feeling ill and worn out, he rallies his strength as Joseph and his sons come to see him. You can read more at this post Rally Strength with Spiritual Food for the Soul.

It’s important to pass on our spiritual treasure. This day with God, let us reflect back on memories and share our wisdom. Share about stories of how God has been with you. Bless future generations with the inspirational message that redemption wins. Here’s today’s video with these ideas in mind: Worn - Tenth Avenue North.

In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace that He lavished on us. - Ephesians 1:7

Listening for Direction

God knows who we really are and the strengths we bring to the world so listen to the Words of God for direction. If we give it all to God, He will provide for all we need. As we turn to God this day, take in the inspirational qualities of this video: Hosanna – Paul Baloche.

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. - Mark 1:35

Arranging Time with God Results in the Changing of Lives

Jacob faithfully prays to God and receives hope in a dream to finally be reunited with his son Joseph. After all these years and now at an old age, he finally understands what faith is all about. It’s all about prayer and listening to God in order to follow His will. As a person spends time with God, changes do occur as in brought to us so well in this video: Changed – Rascal Flatts

Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice. – Proverbs 13:10

He Loves Us Even When We Do Not Deserve It

Joseph had been sold into slavery many years ago because of his brother’s jealousy but his ability to interpret dreams helped him progress from slave to second-in-command in Egypt. When a famine hit the region, Joseph was prepared because God had told him in a dream that the famine would occur so Joseph had stored up provisions.

In much the same way, Jesus became a servant only to rise up as King. He loves us even when we do not deserve His love and provides for our needs. Today’s video is about this love that has been given to us: You Loved Me Anyway – Sidewalk Prophets.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no records of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Let it Go

In the post Redeemer, one point written about is how the family of Jacob was being destroyed by the past. When Judah steps ahead and begs Joseph for the chance to take the place of Benjamin, we are reminded of Christ who died for us on the Cross. Judah was willing to take the place of Benjamin and become a slave so that Benjamin could go free.

Many times in life, our past begins to wear on us and consume our joy. Individuals and families feel that there is no way out. It is during times like this that the only hope is to let it go. Once the past is let go, a change can take place through faith to set us free.

Today’s video is about a hopeless life being turned around; a new believer seeing the light and being changed by the amazing cleansing power of the blood of Christ: Something in the Water – Carrie Underwood.

For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. - Colossians 1:13-14

Journey through Life with Encouragement

In the post Journey through Life with Respect, Joseph invites his brothers to dinner and respects the Egyptian custom of serving Hebrews separately. His brothers show respect to Joseph and humbly give gifts. As we live on this earth, there are several common sense lessons that were brought out in the post.

We should always make God our number one priority. We should always live with integrity in order to build trust with others. We should respect the customs and values of the country in which we live. We should celebrate the successes of others and wish them the best. And we should ask for God’s help in using words that help and encourage others as this today’s video points out: Words – Hawk Nelson.

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. - Psalm 19:14
