A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand
back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is
not easily broken. - Ecclesiastes 4:12
Brought out in the post “Shared Experiences” is the thought that we
are united with God through Christ who conquered death. We are a new person in
Christ with the purpose of serving a great God who has given us the help of a
body of believers. For atriple-braided cord is not easily
broken just in the scripture above points out.
We can feed each other Spiritual
food for the soul to fulfill God’s purpose. There is no need to worry or
nothing to fear for we are free to be the person God wants us to be. As in the
song How Great is Our God by Chris
Tomlin, we can rejoice in our future together as we use our individual
strengths for His great purpose.
Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. - 2
Explained in the post “From Death to Life” is how the pattern of
sin and death was broken by the free gift of Christ. The grace of God and the
gift of righteousness reigns in life eternal. There’s no better deal in the
world. To me, it makes good sense to take it.
Everyone needs God’s grace. Once
received, one can gain wisdom to live the way life is meant to be lived. As the
main point given to us in the songDear Younger Me by MercyMe, our
tomorrows can be better than our yesterdays and today can be amazing because
our growing faith can never be taken away or depleted. The Gospel message has a
beautiful and refreshing simplicity about it that sets us free and never let us
I will sing of the Lord's great love forever; with my mouth I will make
your faithfulness known through all generations. - Psalm 89:1
This day with God, receive the
peace Christ has provided. Express your joy for God’s love to you by
persevering, building character, and maintaining hope.
Just as in the song I Am Free by Newsboys, each day can be
amazing because we can live out loud. We can pray, listen for instructions, and
get things done now. Opportunities to do great things are right in front of us
so let’s go out and give God our best.
Jesus replied, “What is impossible with men is possible with God”. - Luke 18:27
The Cross has made you flawless
and with God, you can passionately believe in what you are doing, let nothing
hold you up in your work, and know that one day at a time the impossible will
Within the post “The Promise”, highlighted was how Abraham
maintained hope, believed in God’s power to fulfill the promise of a son. Even
though he and Sarah had tried before and were beyond the childbearing years,
Abraham had faith in God to fulfill the promise. Abraham’s faith was very strong
and he passionately believed in God’s ability to make the impossible possible.
The result was that a child was born and Abraham ultimately became the father
of many nations.
As in the song Greater by MercyMe, bring your doubts
and fears to God. Bring your hurts and your tears to Him because greater is the
ONE living inside you. The cross has made it possible.
Teach us to number our days aright. That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
- Psalms 90:12
Explained by Paul in the post “Right Standing”, Abraham could not boast
before God or claim his due because it was by faith and not by works that God
did amazing things through him. The priority was more faith because it is
etched eternally into God’s account. What if instead of working at building up
an account like a bank account or a 401K account, we used more of our time to
build up kingdom wealth.
Faith is like uncut diamonds
that are improved and made into bright gems for a useful life. One way to build
up this eternal faith account is to capture thoughts from sermons or Bible
Study, and from experiences that we go through or those we know go through.
Another way to build up eternal faith is gathering inspiration from music or
photos just like this one: Oceans (Where
Feet May Fail) – Hillsong United.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ
lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of
God, who loved me and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20
As pointed out in the post “Way to Righteousness”, legal obedience does
not make one acceptable to God but faith in Jesus Christ does and this is God’s
way of righteousness.
For all have sinned and fall
short of the glory of God but can be justified freely by grace. Not by works
but by faith in Christ. As in this song Embrace
the Cross by Steve Green, let us replace every doubt or fear with a deep
abiding trust in Jesus.
Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne where
there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need
it. - Hebrews 4:16
In the post “Purpose of the Law”, brought out is the fact
that it is impossible to be justified before God by our own efforts because no
one is perfect. I remember from a sermon at the church I worship at the
The Journey with Jesus begins with a decision (MK 1:16-17), with
leaving the familiar (MK 1:12-20), with Jesus saying lets go, with a change in
view (MK 1:17) and in following the real Jesus (Ac 9:10-11).*
The things that hinder us many
times are self-inflicted. There is a song by Steven Curtis Chapman called “Dive”
that inspires us to take some risk when it comes to finding what’s important in
life. The Journey with Jesus requires that we dive right in and start the
continual change process by following His Way.
Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to
bring praise to God. - Romans 15:7
God has made us all for a
purpose and we need to celebrate differences.
According to Guinness World Records, the tallest man living is 8 ft. 3 inches.
The shortest man living is 2 feet tall. A startling comparison is that if
humans varied as much in height as dogs do, the smallest person would be 2 feet
tall and the tallest person would stand 31 feet tall!
The picture we get from the post
“Always Remains the Same” is that we all are
different. Some are skilled in teaching, some are skilled in administration,
and others may be skilled in encouragement. We all also have some weaknesses
but let us be thankful that God always remains faithful, true, righteous, and
Rather than expecting perfection
from others, we can accept each other as a child of God and work in unity using
our specific gifts God has given us. Then we are not competing against each
other but against our enemies like doubt, bondage, and hate.
As the scripture above says, we
should approach each day with the attitude of accepting one another. Take
inspiration from today’s song: Come As
You Are by Crowder.
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall
meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that
is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will
have good success. – Joshua 1:8
Emphasized in the post “Practice What You Preach” is the need to know
God’s instructions from the Bible and better practice or apply these
instructions until they become an effortless activity throughout our day; a
positive part of our life that becomes permanently engrained in who we are.
Once God’s principles become a
part of who we are, we should search for others to join us in applying our faith.
We should be creative in how to apply our faith. Are there apps we can use or
even develop to help people apply their faith in their daily activities? Are
there songs like Lead Me to the Cross by
Hillsong we can share?
Teach me Your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to Your truth!
Grant me purity of heart, so that I may honor You. - Psalm 86:11
The post “Integrate Faith with Actions” is about Paul
pointing out that what we know in our mind needs to lead into the heart. It’s
all about receiving God’s mercy and grace by accepting Christ first. Then, our
hearts are transformed into committed followers of His Way.
Every day can be amazing because
we are putting the guidance of the Holy Spirit into practice. We can’t work
hard enough to be saved but we can accept Christ in our heart and give it our
best effort to daily show that we are saved.
Like the song Back to God by Reba McEntire, let us
inspire others to begin today to integrate our faith with our actions because
knowing God and accepting His grace makes our burdens lighter. Before long, the
world will be changed for the better.
My child, eat honey, for it is good, and the honeycomb is sweet to the
taste. In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul, If you find it, you will
have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short.
In the post “Riches of the Soul”, one idea brought out is
to put God’s Word into practice by evaluating our life and determining the
changes that need to be made.
We spend a lifetime working hard
and trying to save enough to someday retire. But along the way, our greatest
activities are to accept the riches of God’s kindness, tolerance, and patience
to help us change for the better.
Persistently living as the Bible
teaches adds to the riches of our soul which we will have not only in this life
but the eternal one too! Take inspiration from this song: Live Like That – Sidewalk Prophets and
give it all you have today.
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts
on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable.
Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. - Philippians 4:8
A lie the world tells us is to
do things on our own without any help from God. But why exchange the truth of
God for this lie that leads to an unhealthy society? Instead, the prescription to a clearer vision is to
give attention to our spiritual growth. Think of ways to feed our hearts and
minds with positives from God.
Like the song Fix My Eyes by King & Country
points out, we can change our course. We can accept the help God gives in
Christ and accept the obvious as truth. The ways of the world always change but
the character of God never does.
As a society learns how to live
God’s way, individuals build up strong character, families support each other,
and communities flourish. The post “Changing
Course” provides an analysis from Paul about society’s issues, how to sort
things out, and offers a prescription to a clearer vision.
Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge Him. As
surely as the sun rises, He will appear; He will come to us like the winter
rains, like the spring rains that water the earth. - Hosea 6:3
In the post “Giving all Honor and Praise to God”, the
thought brought out is that there is no excuse for not accepting God’s power
and divine nature because His invisible qualities can be clearly seen.
I remember a while back driving to
work and seeing a double rainbow in the sky. I got out of my truck and started
walking up the hill to my office when I realized that I left my badge in my
truck so I walked back to my truck and noticed the rainbow again. This time, I
took a few seconds to aim my smart phone to get a shot of the rainbow.
If we focus on God’s beauty, we
are able to make it through anything and realize that at the end of the rainbow
of life, there is a pot of gold because those who give up what’s in the world
and follow Christ, receive eternal riches in the kingdom of God.
The world tells us God is not
real but as I go through each day; taking walks and feeling the fresh breeze
hitting my face and hearing the sounds of night that sooths my soul, I know the
world is telling a lie and the ONE who created the breeze and unique music of
the night is telling the truth.
This day with God, let us give
honor to Him by noting when His invisible qualities are made plain to us. Let
us tell God we are thankful and encourage each other.
But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. -
Explained in the post “The Power of the Gospel” is that Paul wanted
to share the Gospel with the Roman Christians because he knew the Gospel would
meet their needs and the Gospel message would spread faster to all parts of the
Today, we look around us in this world and see
poverty, sickness, and pain. We may ask God why He doesn’t do something. The
thing is, He did by giving us the power of the Gospel to be His hands and feet
to the world.
The Gospel message is so
powerful because it continues to grow and can never be taken away or depleted.
It has a beautiful and refreshing simplicity about it that sets us free and
never lets us down. It is like our fuel to energize us to do good works.
Maybe today it’s time for us to
take to heart the song Do Something by Matthew
West and be doers of the Word. As
the song says, if not us then who?
All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who
are the called according to His purpose. - Romans 8:28
As pointed out in the post “Fertile Ground for a Great Harvest”, Paul
put a lot into his relationship with the Roman Christians. He knew that by
teaching them, God’s purpose for him of spreading the Word would take root and
the harvest would be plentiful because Rome was the center of communication
throughout the world during this time.
Let us also see this purpose of
Paul as our great purpose because the only things in life that last forever are
the Word of God and our relationships with His people. Therefore, let us do
things daily that last forever by getting to knowing God’s Word and creating a
stream of compassion that flows from one Christian heart to another.
The song Who Am I by Casting Crowns points out
that our forever home is with God. We are just here on earth for a short time.
Our life on this earth will fade away into the sunset but our relationship with
God and other Christians will last forever.
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do
not see. - Hebrews 11:1
Shared in the post “The Servant of Christ Jesus”, Paul gave the
church at Rome some facts of the Gospel;
that it was promised from the beginning, that Christ died for our sins on the
Cross, and that all who believe in Christ as the Son of God receive eternal
There's a special feeling you
get when you've been a part of helping bring the message to others. This day
with God, let us obediently respond to the facts of the Gospel and fulfill our
call as a witness. Here is a song to inspire as we go about our day: My Story by Big Daddy Weave.
If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish,
and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much
fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. - John 15:7-8
As posted in “Order and Patience” about the tent of
meeting, the cloud of the Lord was over the tabernacle by day and a fire was in
the cloud by night. When the cloud lifted, they knew to set out on their travels
so it was like the Holy Spirit guiding the Israelites.
Today, this power known as the
Holy Spirit is given to all that have committed
to following Christ. Take inspiration from the song Lead Me to the Cross - Hillsong as you
set out on your journey today.
Within the tabernacle was where
the Spirit of God resided during the time of Moses. Because Christ was the
ultimate sacrifice for sin, today the Spirit of God lives in all who accept
Christ as Savior just as laid out in God’s plan for us.
Take inspiration from today’s
video Christ in Me by Jeremy Camp.
This day, run free into an unending ocean of mercy. Let the world see that you
are free as you shine the light and give a spark that lights up a sometimes
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or
under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. - 2 Corinthians 9:7
As pointed out in the post “Moved by the Spirit to Give”, you can
satisfy that craving deep down inside by being a cheerful giver; feeding your soul by giving your skills, your time,
and your resources. So enthusiastically give from your heart for the needs of
others and the Spirit of the Lord.
The song When Love Sees You by Mac Powell is
about stories of giving. In the Bible, we learn about the blind beggar that is
blessed by the healing power of Christ, the widow that gave all she had as an
offering, and Mary who washed the feet of Jesus.
These are just a few of the
inspiring stories found in the Bible. This day with God, share your story of
giving or receiving and be inspired by the ultimate gift which is Christ who
died on the Cross for you and me.
Jesus replied, ‘What is impossible with men is possible with God. - Luke
The main point for me as brought
out in the post, “Seeing and Believing”
is that we should be ready to meet God for direction each day just like Moses
did when he went up on Mount Sinai for we serve an amazing all powerful God who
is indescribable and uncontainable.
Our prayers will be heard as we
are connected by accepting our Savior. One small step changes everything and
our first step of accepting Jesus gives us a tremendous resource in the Holy
The Holy Spirit will guide us to
an amazing journey as we step ahead fearlessly. Amazing things will happen
because the presence of the Holy Spirit in our life will lift us to new heights.
Each day can be amazing because
with the Lord, you can passionately believe in what you are doing, let nothing
hold you up in your work and have faith that one day at a time the impossible
will become possible. Watch the video Indescribable
by Chris Tomlin to inspire you this day with God.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all
these things shall be added unto you. – Matthew 6:33
Brought out in the post “Regular Habit” was that Moses would go to a
tent set up away from the camp to meet with God. He would get instructions
about how to lead his people. As we begin each day, it’s important that we do
the same as we ask for guidance along life’s best path.
Moses cared about his people;
refusing to stay put but ready to move when God instructed. Receive inspiration
in the song I Refuse by Josh Wilsonthat has some of the same points as we face the
challenges ahead in fulfilling our purpose.
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself
will be exalted. - Matthew 23:12
There are times when we have no
control over things and the only ability we have is to go to God in prayer and
humbly receive the power only He can give. Those we lead make messes and we clean
them up only to be pulled back into their messes again. During it all, the
thing we must do is keep calm, care for them, and keep shining the light.
In the post “Qualities of Leadership Found in Moses”, we
find that Moses continued to mediate for his people and was patient with them
even when they didn’t deserve it. Take inspiration from this song "Come As You Are by Crowder". Let us see
hope for the hopeless because all who believe in Christ are precious in God’s
sight. They can come as they are and fall in His arms.
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. -
God’s actions seemed delayed
when Moses went to the top of the mountain to receive the Ten Commandments and
the people got impatient. As pointed out in the post “Hope Produces Patience”
our response when the answers to our prayers seem delayed should be to hold on
to the promise just like in this song: Hope
in Front of Me by Danny Gokey.
For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and
all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord
blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. - Exodus 20:11
In the post “Filled With His Spirit”, God provided workers
who could reflect His creative activity in order to build and furnish the tent
of meeting; a place for His people to meet with Him.
Worship time is so important
because it is a time to meet with God and be filled with His Spirit. It also is
a day of rest so we can physically be prepared for the challenges faced in the
Several years ago, I began to
think a lot about how God could use me in a ministry at our church. One area
that caught my attention was using my technology background to help with the
tech team during our worship service.
I also wanted to use technology
in getting God’s Word out with this on-line Bible study guide. We live in a
very busy world with busy schedules so my hope was to use this tool to help with
daily Bible reading and study.
As you listen to this video: In Me by Casting Crowns take some time
to identify your strengths and how you can reflect God’s creative activity to a
world in need.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not
from yourselves, it is the gift of God. - Ephesians 2:8
Shared in the post “Immanuel” was the purpose of the tent of
meeting which was to have a place where people could meet with God. The Lord’s
presence back then and today is our great reward.
In present times, believers can
meet with God at any time or any place because of Christ’s atonement of sins on
the Cross. This day with God, rejoice in this great gift of God that has been
given to us.
The thoughts shared above can
turn a bad day into a good one. Suddenly, our attitude changes because we
realize that God is with us at any time or any place. We can watch videos and
listen to inspiring music like this: Holy
Spirit by Francesca Battistelli.
Each day we can build memories.
We can take pictures of His Creation like an amazing rainbow stretching from
one end of the sky to the next. We can use technology to take virtual vacations
by using the Internet. We can share with others around the world that God is
with us today.
I have brought you glory on earth by completing the work you gave me to
do. – John 17:4
In the post “Detailed Instructions”, are thoughts about
the specific instructions for the offerings made in order to consecrate
priests. Today, we identify with Christ as our sin offering and the ultimate
sacrifice for our sins. Since Christ came and died on the Cross, we have a
direct relationship with God.
By accepting Christ into our
life; taking note of His teachings and by reading God’s Word, we get specific
instructions in how to live. Reading
God’s word is much like hunting or fishing because we have to be patient,
quite, and focused as we search for our daily spiritual food.
My grandfather loved to hunt. He
had dogs that he trained for the purpose of finding raccoons. They would smell
the trail and follow. Usually this led to a big tree where the raccoon would
climb to the very top. Along the way, the dog would bark until you could then
hear a different bark. It was a very excited bark in the same location and
there was bark after bark after bark. When the hunter heard this bark, he knew the
dog had the raccoon cornered.
Like these trained dogs of my
grandfather, we trail what we are passionate about for our Master. As a person
of faith, we find great truths that provide spiritual food and share these
truths with others. Here is a truth to share today in a song: Stop the World by Matthew West. This
day with God, remember that He is listening and is pleased when we have done
our job for Him.
The LORD is my strength and my song; He has become my salvation. –
In the post “Use Your God Given Talent”, mentioned were
the skilled people that made the priestly garments. God has given each of us
talents and abilities to serve others. The challenge for us is to discover our
specific talent or ability and be thankful.
Sometimes when an athlete makes
a good play like a touchdown or hits a homerun, they point to the sky; humbly
pointing out that it was power from up above that made it happen.
In whatever we do today, let us
also do amazing things by using abilities and skills from God to serve others. It
may be to inspire others just like a great athlete or singer. It may be in our
job or in how we serve others. Here is an inspiring video as we step ahead: There is Power by Lincoln Brewster.
Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne where
there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need
it. - Hebrews 4:16
The main point as written in the
post “The Greatest Sacrifice Ever” is that God’s
Plan for us makes it much easier today because of what Jesus Christ did on
the Cross for our eternal victory.
We can be a great person but
without Christ, the victory is out of reach. I remember watching the NFL
induction ceremony when Brett Favre was inducted into the Hall of Fame. With
all his greatness, few people know that he is leader in one negative stat. As a
quarterback, he had the most interceptions.
We all make mistakes but we can
turn mistakes into a victory if we take in the lessons learned. Because of the
grace of God, blessings can be received even from our past mistakes. Take
inspiration from today’s video: Your
Grace Is Enough by Matt Maher and believe you have all you need to build
for an amazing future.
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in
lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you
look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
- Philippians 2:3-4
As written about in the post “Cultivating Internal Beauty”, So much time
went into furnishing the inside of the tabernacle. In the same way, we need to
spend more time cultivating an inner joy.
We can do this by following the
scripture above with concern for others and not building our lives on the
externals like attractiveness, nice clothing, and new cars. The problem with
the externals is that there is always someone that looks better on the outside,
has a better house, a better car, or takes better vacations. We look at others
and think they are smarter, slimmer, or better looking than we are.
Instead, just focus on what God
has given you in Christ. By believing in His Son, you are precious and
beautiful on the inside. You have been given an inner joy and are pleasant to
be around. You have joy even in difficulty and see each day as the best day
This day, feel secure because of
the joy in knowing that God is with you wherever you go and see each moment in
life as sacred. May this song Stand In
The Light by Jordan Smith help as
you step ahead today!
