Joy Destroys any Ploy

Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. – James 1:2-4

Alone, we are like one drop of water but together we make an ocean. In the post “Persistence Overcomes Resistance”, we get the account of Paul spending two years in prison for simply being a Christian. Paul and many early Christians went through many hardships as they laid out the foundation for Christianity; a foundation that has proven can withstand extreme opposition.

Next time your day is filled with some resistance, smile at it, say thank You God, and keep going. Like a stream of water, persistence will eventually cut into a rock and if we remain persistent at focusing on the possibilities God gives us, we can cut into and go through any obstacle in our way.

Take inspiration from this song knowing that together, we can press on with confidence that our joy destroys any ploy: Press On – Building 429.

Victory Assured

For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. - 1 John 5:4

The world constantly tries to keep us in a state of turmoil and unrest. To step ahead, take in God's Word to fortify. Remain optimistic because God is big enough to provide the poise we need to think through each situation. As explained in the post “Step Ahead with Poise”, God is working behind the scenes to set things up for our benefit because we are highly favored by our Creator.

The world has a way of making us feel like we are lacking. I'm not skilled at that or I'm too slow. I just don't catch on to that new concept like others do. If thoughts like this come to mind, remember that with God there is no need to get stressed out. He's big enough to make up the difference and provide that extra push to finish in victory.

In the scripture at the beginning of this post, we are told of God’s plan for us. This is a plan for victory that is carried out by going to Him in prayer, accepting Christ as Savior, and being washed of sin. Our new birth is the victory assured and is also highlighted in this video: The River – Jordan Felizhttps://youtu.be/6dM0ZNoa6kU.

Take Courage for He is For Us

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? – Romans 8:31

In the post “Take Courage” written about was one of the difficult experiences Paul had to go through as he testified about God’s Way. While he was in prison, God stood near Paul and told him to take courage. At that point, it seems as though there was a peace within Paul because he knew that God was with him and would continue to be with him in his time of need.

It is the same for us today. We can have an attitude of confidence and peace of mind because we can trust that God will also be with us in our time of need. Take courage my friends and inspiration from today’s video: I Am Not Alone – Kari Jobe.

He is Faithful and Just

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word is not in us. - 1 John 1:9

As noted in the post “The Whole Truth Sets You Free”, Paul was set free by the Roman Commander once he found out he was a Roman citizen. A Roman citizen had certain protections under their laws.

Being a citizen is important.  Today, some don’t take citizenship all that serious. But it always has been a big deal. Back in the time of Paul, families would pay what is equivalent to $50,000 for Roman citizenship.

As in Paul’s case, it’s important to tell the whole truth to others even when they may be unpopular. If the truth is what people need to hear, tell it and believe God will come to your defense. He’s paid a big price in order for you to receive his guidance, protection, and eternal life with Him.

Remember, the Lord is faithful and just. Here is a song to inspire you this day: Great is Thy Faithfulness – Jordan Smith – The Voice 2015.

Hearts Led By Mercy

Let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. - Romans 14:19

Christianity is the most adaptable movement there is, allowing individuals to accommodate other’s attitudes and convictions without compromising principle. Christianity is built for the individual and is flexible yet distinctly substantiated by belief in Christ.

Unfortunately, we are so caught up in a time when being politically correct is all that matters and not offending people is the main objective rather than following the path laid out for us.

Yet this day, let us remember that Jesus died for all. Let us not judge but edify. My hope is that this video will inspire this thought for us today: Jesus, Friend of Sinners – Casting Crowns.

Tough Times Bring Sure Signs

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. - Proverbs 3:5-6

Sometimes we get conflicting guidance just like I wrote about in the post “Sure Signs”. Getting advice from others can be good but knowing the will of God gives a clearer picture that others may not be able to see.

When it all comes down to it, daily prayer and Bible study are so important in knowing the will of God. It’s all about sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ. That is our highest priority and even if we go through tough times, God will give a sure sign that will keep us on the right track.

Care and Share

In the post “Stirring Each Other Up”, I shared some thoughts on actively seeking out others to care about and share God’s Word with at our places of work, in our neighborhoods, or at the schools we attend.

The lost get found by taking every opportunity to care about each other and to share about Christ. Whether it is at lunch break sharing about God’s Word, helping a neighbor, or meeting people on a road trip as Britt Nicole did in this video: The Lost Get Found – Britt Nicole, we are giving glory to God by reaching out to others right where we are.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. - Matthew 28:19-20

Accepting God’s Grace and Finishing this Race Called Life

However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord has given me – the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. – Acts 20:24

As described in the post “Being a Good Example”, Paul gives us a vivid picture of his service for Jesus Christ. We should strive to follow the principles he demonstrates like overcoming difficulty, applying our faith, having a definite purpose, and going the extra mile so that we finish this race called life victoriously.

The Word of God emphasizes how we apply our faith; giving hope and having compassion for others. How we live speaks volumes to others because they see the example of victory that can become their own victory through Jesus Christ. Enjoy today’s video that puts fourth some of these same thoughts: SpeakLife – Toby Mac.

Meet Resistance Head On with Patience and Persistence

Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. - James 1:2-4

During the missionary journeys of Paul, he went through physical and mental strain yet carried out God’s will. Paul spoke all night at one stop along the way as explained in the post “Joy Even in Trials”.

There were plots out to kill Paul, yet he had confidence that God would protect him. He took every opportunity to share about the Lord even when it caused personal inconvenience.

As the scripture above states, let us take this inspiration and count it all joy when we fall into various trials; knowing that God is making us into the person He wants us to be. Enjoy today’s inspirational video Keep Making Me – Sidewalk Prophets.
