Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it
says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man
who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and
immediately forgets what he looks like. - James 1:22-24
The post “Prepared Way” is about the promises made by
God to the Israelites as He prepares the way to the Promised Land. These same
promises are available to us today in His Word as a guide to our relationships,
our career, and everything we do. We can use it to plan and build our life to
withstand the shakeups we may face.
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on
earth. - Colossians 3:2
One of the main questions I
tried to answer within the post “Responsible
To Each Other” was how do we put God first in the future? After reading the
passage and giving it some thought, the best way to answer the question is by putting God FIRST in our finances, our
interests, our relationships, and in our time. Like the song Fix My Eyes by King & Country, we
should fix our eyes on the things of God.
I remember a while back when I
drove to work and saw a double rainbow in the sky. I got out of my truck and
started walking up the hill to the office when I realized that I left my badge
in my truck so I walked back to my truck and noticed the rainbow again.
This time, I took a few seconds
to aim my smart phone to get a picture of the rainbow. If we focus on God’s
beauty, we are able to make it through anything and realize that at the end of
the rainbow of life, there is a pot of gold because those who give up what’s in
the world and follow Christ, receive eternal riches in the kingdom of God.
Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for
the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. – Joshua 1:9
Within the passage Exodus
22:1-15 as written about in the post “Love
Your Neighbor as Yourself” are penalties for deliberate theft and
negligence. This passage elaborates on the Eighth Commandment in which the
instruction is to not kill or steal but to show genuine concern for your neighbor.
In order to manage society’s problems,
we should each show concern for our neighbor’s possessions and alert
authorities if a theft or crime is taking place in our neighborhood. As in the
song Voice of Truth by Casting Crowns,
we should have the courage to make a stand against those who take advantage of
are God my Savior, and my hope is in You all day long. - Psalm 25:4-5
As shared in the post “The ONE True”, knowing and trusting God
makes a difference in how we treat others. God’s love for us as demonstrated on
the Cross began the healing process for His people. We are brought together as
one in Christ and our attitudes toward others are changed.
If the past has been one in
which we were careless in our relationships or have said or done things that
hurt others, we can make things right by being honest with ourselves and with
others. As in the song “If We’re Honest
by Francesca Battistelli", we can set out on a new path which God has
provided for all.
Things of the world lead down a
long and winding path to nowhere but the path of God leads to a glorious
future. His promised future is laid out on the solid foundation of Truth and we
can rest assured that the promise will be fulfilled.
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ
lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of
God, who loved me and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20
One thing is for sure and
creates true joy for the future; by accepting Christ as Savior, things only get
better. The negative past is washed away, the joy of the present is
highlighted, and the future is brighter each and every day.
These thoughts were also brought
out in the post “The Promise Of The Spirit”
and give us a lift for each day. The memories we make today will give us a
lift, the weather can give us a lift, and the ultimate lift is knowing that the
future is bright because of the reward God has for all that believe in His Son.
Enjoy today’s song Multiplied by Need to Breath and receive
the multiplied effect of the Spirit inside which is like radiant diamonds
bursting inside with the promise of a great future filled with the never ending
flow of grace.
Two are better than one because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and
has no one to help him up! - Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
The post “Walk by the Spirit” has some thoughts and
ideas towards blessing others. I also remember a while back when our church did
a Mobile Pack Event for Feed my Starving Children. It was a fun event for
adults and children. There were jobs for everyone to help get all the food
ingredients into 100,000 food pack meals that was sent to various places where
it was needed around the world.
We all need the help of others
from time to time in life. We can all find comfort in knowing that God is big
enough to get us through and He provides many believers to pick us up. Be
inspired by today’s song called How Great
is Our God – Chris Tomlin.
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know
what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit intercedes for us through wordless
groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because
the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God. - Romans
Life is not always easy and we
sometimes question why bad things happen to us but even in our weakest moments
our faith helps us to step ahead. As pointed out in the post “Step Ahead With The Spirit” we have
available to us a power that can take on whatever comes our way.
The Spirit helps us even in our
weakest moments to solve problems at work, at home, and wherever we are. The
key to fulfilling the mission God has for us is knowing how to live life by
applying the intangibles of faith into the tangibles of good deeds.
As emphasized in the song Blessings by Laura Story, have faith
that even in your weakest moments that there is a greater strength inside that
is at work to provide blessings for your future.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not
from yourselves, it is the gift of God. - Ephesians 2:8
In the post “Discover the Freedom In Christ”, Paul
reemphasized the importance of Christ in our heart for there is great power in
the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. His death on the Cross and resurrection
became the clear way to our victory.
This day with God, take in the Word
to fortify. Remain optimistic because with God, we are highly favored and as
pointed out in the song My Victory by
Crowder, the Cross which was meant to kill became our victory and makes us
