Time to Do Something

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. - James 1:22-24

As pointed out in the post “Made Free In Christ”, the Holy Spirit became available for all who believe in Christ; giving strength, guidance, and power do something. With freedom comes the responsibility to make the right choices and apply our faith as the Spirit councils our daily activities.

This day with God, let us look through the prism of God’s principles. Let us listen to music that inspires, let us observe people who live according to God’s principles, and let us seek better ways to share with others the lessons learned.

We can come up with ideas that can help everyone live better lives. God created us be His hands and feet. Just like in the song Do Something by Matthew West, let us build on what God has done yesterday and let us dream big dreams for tomorrow.

By Grace Saved By Faith

We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. - 2 Corinthians 6:3

In the post “All Obstacles Are Removed”, studied was how some spiritual leaders tried to set up stumbling blocks that confused the Galatians. They were more concerned about maintaining their own power over others rather than explaining God’s love for them as demonstrated on the Cross.

A person can go from being a nobody to a somebody when they understand God’s love for them. Jesus demonstrated that love and this song Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) by Chris Tomlin explains the freedom we have received by accepting Christ as Savior.

Regain Your Edge

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. - Psalm 118:24

Within the post “Christ In Our Heart” were some thoughts as Paul tells the Galatians that God would take care of them. There was no need to be enslaved by idols because by accepting Christ as Savior, they would be set free. This same power is available to us today.

During troubling or confusing times, understand that you are highly favored in God’s eye. This favor changes everything so if your thoughts are going in the wrong direction, you can regain your edge for a great day by thinking of what good things are going your way.

This will build momentum so that you stay on track today. Here is a song called Free by Dara Maclean to help you remain optimistic and confident that God will step in to change everything for the better and help you regain your edge as you step ahead today.

One In Christ

Two are better than one because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! - Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

I can remember years ago when the Bible study group I was a part of started a prayer chain. We prayed for each other and the group began to grow tremendously. It was a group of Christian singles just starting their careers. We would attend church together, have Bible Study together, and meet for social events together.

I look back on that group now and many friendships were formed. I’ve kept in contract with them and several couples are now missionaries around the world.  There were even a few marriages from that group.

We can display oneness with other believers in Christ today. Our faith in Christ gives us the freedom we need and we have the opportunity to tap into our individual skills and talents for His glory. As you go about your day today, remember that you are never alone and that God has given other Christians to help us along the journey. How Great is Our God by Chris Tomlin!

Let Thanksgiving Overflow

All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. - Psalm 100:4

As written in the post, “Promise is Fulfilled” explained is how the law and the promise is fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. We have ups and downs in life. There are times where the future seems gloomy but then in a moment, something can inspire us to keep going. It may be something you read, it may be something you see like a sunrise or sunset, or it might be a song you hear.

Christians believe the ultimate reward is salvation. The law in the Old Testament is not set aside. Instead, it is followed more clearly through the promise fulfilled in Christ. This day, know that Christ is Holy and by accepting Christ as Savior, you have what is needed to be perfect in God’s eye.

There is no need to get uptight about things in life. Today, make a decision to let it go and trust that everything will work out. The focus for today is to enjoy each moment so as we begin, receive inspiration from this song O Praise Him by David Crowder Band.

Connected Forever to the Greatest Power Ever

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. - Colossians 2:6-7

We may face difficulties daily … a family member is sick, a rough day at work, trying to balance work, home, and school but as pointed out in the post “Promise of the Spirit”, the Good News for us is that by accepting Christ, we are connected forever to the greatest power ever. We are connected to the Holy Spirit so we can face these difficult days by turning them over to God.

When we turn our difficulties over to God, greatness begins because God is bigger than any difficulty we face. One song that emphasizes this truth is He Is With Us by Love & The Outcome.

So my friend in Christ, set your sights beyond what you can see. Be determined and know that Christ has paid the price, giving you an unseen power which cannot be measured or weighed but can tell you the right things to do for a favorable outcome.

Be One of the Branches

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. - John 15:5

As noted in the post “Spirit Is Received By Those Who Have Believed “, we are justified by faith in Christ. Each day, we can count our blessings and turn our whole life around. Nothing is impossible if we believe that Jesus is the Vine and we are the branches.

Be one of the branches today. As in the song Be One by Natalie Grant, be the light in the dark, be the change, and be the hope.

Christ Lives Inside

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. – Galatians 2:20

Written about in the post “Connection to the Vine” are two ways of thinking about salvation. Paul’s way of thinking is that faith in Christ as the Son of God is how we are justified and not by observing the Old Testament law.

We face difficulties on a daily basis … a family member is sick, a rough day at work, trying to balance work, home, and school work. When we face these difficult days, accepting Christ and being connected to the Vine is how we receive the power to make it through.

As emphasized in the song I will Trust in You by Lauren Daigle, the power received through Jesus can move the mountains, part the waters, and provide a victorious future.

One Mind and One Voice

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. - Romans 15:5-6

The post “Through His Diverse People” has some thoughts about Christianity and how it is like a relay race. We all help each other out with our unique abilities for God’s purposes.

A diverse group of people has an advantage because with one mind and one voice, they have the opportunity to pull together with various ideas and skill sets. Each day can be amazing when we fix problems together.

This song by Miranda Lambert talks about the pluses of All Kinds of Kinds.
